Please read the instructions carefully because the
order of installation is critical.
1.
Log into Eportal.
2.
Navigate to IT(top) à Dealer Services Group(left) à Truck Sales(left) à Prospector(left)
3.
Under the “Main Install”
section, download and Save, the Paccar
Data Engine and PROSPECTOR®
Environment.
4.
Scroll down to download the lasted
Update and Monthly update (if available).
Paccar Data Engine – Install Steps
1.
To start the install process, Paccar Data Engine file.
2.
Right-click the Paccar Data Engine file and click Run as administrator.
7. Select Allow
3.
Click Next.
Later in the process you will see the
following dialogs:
Click the Run program button in response to each. Microsoft says that MSDE is unsupported
rather than incompatible. We have
thoroughly tested it with Prospector, and have found no problems.
4.
Install in progress.
5.
Configuring Paccar Data Engine.
6.
Paccar Data Engine installation
complete, click the Finish button. (re-start is
mandatory)
7.
When the restart is complete,
the SQL Server Service Manager icon will display in the systray. It should
display a green triangle.
PROSPECTOR® Environment – Install Steps
1.
Open the Prospector Environment file.
2.
Right-click the PROSPECTOR Environment file and click Run as administrator
3.
Select Allow
4.
Click Next.
5.
Unless there is a specific need
to install PROSPECTOR in a location other than the default, click Next.
6.
Install in progress.
Near the end of the install the following
dialog is displayed
7.
This is a left over from Win9x.
The DLL is now part of Vista. Click OK.
8.
Click Finish.
9.
After the restart is complete,
you should have the PROSPECTOR®
icon on your Desktop.
Update Install – Install Steps
1.
Right-Click on the latest update
you downloaded from Eportal.
2.
There will be an option Extract All or use WinZip to unzip the
files
3.
Right-click the Setup(little Blue truck Icon) file and click Run as administrator
4.
Select Allow
5.
Click the Next.
6.
Installation in progress.
7.
Enter Dealer Code, Salesperson
name and E-mail Address. The entries are not case sensitive.
8.
Enter info for Auto Update
Settings. If unsure of these settings, contact your PC support staff.
9.
Click Finish.
